One handles the responsibility of analyzing cricket and hosting the show in front of the TV screen. Another creates a storm in the 22 yards of cricket. Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan are a unique example of a cricketing family. The dominance of this Indian pacer in world cricket is not unknown to anyone. However, he has become a better cricketer, father and husband since the birth of his child. This is what his sports broadcaster wife Sanjana said.

Recently, she talked about her husband Bumrah and their marital understanding in a podcast called ‘Moment of Silence’. The two met in 2021 through cricket, and they tied the knot in the same year. Two years later, Bumrah and Sanjana welcomed their son Angad. At that time, the Indian pacer was busy in Sri Lanka for the 2023 Asia Cup. However, he rushed to his beloved wife the moment his child was born. This taste of fatherhood has changed Bumrah in many ways.

Talking about that moment, Sanjana said, ‘When the child was born, Jasprit was busy playing the Asia Cup. Still, he reached out to me at the right time. I don’t want to say it too loudly in front of everyone. But I think Bumrah has become a better cricketer after having Angad. If at the end of the day you return to a peaceful home where you can just be a father and a husband, that will help you a lot.’

Sanjana herself is a sports anchor. After marriage, she has interviewed Bumrah several times. In that, she has seen that Bumrah never misses an opportunity to have fun in front of the camera. The entire cricket world watched the scenes of India’s T20 World Cup last year. Sanjana, recalling that memory, said, “I was interviewing him after the T20 World Cup. He was constantly joking. Sometimes he was winking, sometimes he was laughing. He was deliberately trying to disrupt my concentration. I could tell that I was having a hard time maintaining my concentration.”

Sanjana believes that the couple’s marriage is also one of the reasons for Bumrah’s success. In her words, “Bumrah is my best friend for storytelling. I eat chocolates with him in bed. I watch movies on OTT. Or we talk about what we did throughout the day. These things bring a lot of peace to our lives.”

Bumrah’s wife also gave her reaction to other cricketers’ wives. Although everyone’s personality and lifestyle are different, Sanjana said that she sees a very balanced relationship between them, “Everyone’s personality is different, each one is different. Sometimes after interviewing cricketers, I go to the stands and meet their wives. Then I guess the whole thing. It’s a bit like yin-yang (according to Chinese philosophy – a balanced relationship between two people of the opposite sex). The wife is exactly what the person needs.”
