The IPL and PSL were suspended due to political conflict and military tensions between India and Pakistan. The two franchise tournaments of the arch-rivals are back on the field from today (Saturday). Many things have changed in the changed situation. Shakib Al Hasan, who had not found a team before, has been taken by the PSL’s Lahore Qalandars and Mustafizur Rahman has been taken by his old IPL franchise Delhi Capitals.

However, three people from Bangladesh were called up for these two tournaments earlier. Shakib and Mustafiz were not there. Both of them have now been allowed to play in the two India-Pakistan competitions. On the other hand, Nahid Rana and Rishad Hossain will most likely not be seen in the PSL due to international commitments. Because the Bangladesh national team has a series against the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan. And Liton Das, who was called up to the Karachi Kings, was already out of the PSL due to injury.

After being suspended for more than a week, the IPL and PSL are starting for the second time on the same day. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders will face each other in the only match of the day in the Indian league. On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings will fight in the PSL today. Bangladeshi pacer Nahid Rana did not make his debut even when he played for Peshawar in Pakistan earlier. And today he and Rishad will play in the first T20 against the United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile, no Bangladeshi cricketer got a team in the IPL auction this time. However, in the subsequent situation, several franchises are in crisis with foreign cricketers. Delhi has added Mustafiz to the team to fill the void of Mitchell Starc. This cutter master has the experience of playing two seasons in their jersey before. Mustafiz has received NOC from BCB to play in the IPL from May 18 to May 24. Delhi’s first match after the new start is also on May 18. Delhi will get Mustafiz from that match.

On the other hand, PSL is also facing a similar problem of foreign cricketers. Lahore has brought Shakib in as a replacement for New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell. The BCB has also given him a no-objection certificate (NOC) based on the application of this Bangladeshi all-rounder. PSL is starting in its second phase from today. And Shakib will play the Lahore Qalandars match tomorrow (Sunday).

Shakib’s match schedule in PSL

May 18 – Lahore Qalandars vs Peshawar Zalmi – 9pm

This is Lahore’s last match in the league season. If the team can qualify for the playoffs, Shakib will get a chance to play more matches. He has experience playing in the franchise’s jersey before. On the other hand, Mustafiz has the opportunity to play in the playoffs in addition to the league season. However, due to the Pakistan series, his NOC is valid until May 24. It is not yet known whether his term will be extended after that.

Mustafizur Rahman’s match schedule in the league phase of the IPL

May 18 – Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans – 8 PM
May 21 – Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals – 8 PM
May 24 – Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings – 8 PM
