The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) had conducted a raid on the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on April 15 over various allegations including irregularities and corruption in the sale of tickets for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). A special three-member team from the ACC’s Dhaka office conducted the raid. The ACC has once again visited the BCB a month after the incident.

Today (Saturday) at around 1 pm, the ACC entered the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. Although nothing is known about their operation today. This time, a four-member team of the ACC has come to the BCB.

Earlier, after the operation at the BCB, ACC officials said, ‘Tk 15 crore was allocated for Mujib Barsho. The expenditure has been shown as Tk 25 crore. However, so far, the BCB has been able to show documents of Tk 7 crore. And it has said that it has been spent verbally. In total, initial evidence of a loss of Tk 19 to 20 crore has been found. (Domestic competition) In the third division selection, 2-3 teams used to participate in the last few years. This time, 60 teams have taken part. Is this just to reduce the entry fee or for some other reason, the ACC is investigating.’

In addition, the first 8 seasons of BPL sold 15 crore taka of tickets, and the 11th season alone earned 13 crore taka. ACC officials said at the time that an investigation was underway into some irregularities in BPL and domestic cricket.
