His entry into the field is a big message in the history of cricket. Vaibhav Suryavanshi – In just 14 years, many ‘youngest’ records in cricket were collected in his two hands. Yesterday, he proved himself once again by playing his last match in the 2025 IPL. Vaibhav finished the match quite well in the match against Chennai Super Kings.
The match featured two young Indian openers, Ayush Mahatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Both the U-19 openers are the best batsmen of their respective teams. Ayush played a team-high innings of 43 runs for Chennai Super Kings. And Vaibhav, who has become a star, stopped at fifty. He returned with two records.
Suryavanshi played the match-winning innings of 57 runs off 33 balls against Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings. There were 4 fours and a six each. And those 4 sixes have taken him to the top of another IPL statistical list. Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s name is now jointly in the record of most sixes among batsmen under 20 years of age in a season.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit 24 sixes in his debut season in the IPL. Rishabh Pant also hit 24 sixes in the 2017 season. Pant was 19 years and 7 months old at the time. Suryavanshi reached him at the age of just 14 years and 1 month. However, the record is not being held by him alone. Because Rajasthan has no more matches left in the IPL.
With this fifty, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s name has entered another elite list. Vaibhav Suryavanshi is only the third player in history to score multiple fifties in first-class cricket before turning 16. Before him, this feat was achieved by Lewis Bruce and Hasan Isakhil. Lewis, however, is far ahead of the rest.
Most fifties in first class before the age of 16

- 6 – Lewis Bruce (Gibraltar National Team)
- 2 – Hasan Isakhil (Boost Defenders)
- 2 – Vaibhav Suryavanshi (Rajasthan Royals)
Rajasthan Royals, however, emerged victorious in the match between the two bottom teams. They chased down the target of 188 runs set by Chennai with 17 balls to spare.
