In a high-scoring clash that saw 472 runs scored, it was the brilliance of Pooran and Marsh Power—with Mitchell Marsh (81 off 48) and Nicholas Pooran (87 off 36)—that propelled LSG to a massive 238/3. KKR fought hard with Ajinkya Rahane (61 off 35) and Venkatesh Iyer (45 off 26) leading the chase, but a middle-order collapse proved costly as they ended on 234/7.

Batting first on a small-ground setup, the Pooran and Marsh Power show was on full display as Marsh and Aiden Markram (49) built a solid 99-run opening stand. After Markram’s dismissal, Pooran walked in and launched a brutal counterattack, smashing 8 sixes and 7 fours. His unbeaten 87 off just 36 balls lifted LSG to a daunting total.
KKR started their chase aggressively, hammering 90 runs in the PowerPlay. Rahane and Sunil Narine (30) led the charge, followed by a crucial 71-run stand between Rahane and Iyer. But the momentum stalled in the middle overs, as LSG’s spinners Ravi Bishnoi and Digvesh Rathi applied pressure and triggered a collapse, despite the earlier show of Pooran and Marsh Power inspiring hopes of a similar counterattack.
From 168/2, KKR suddenly crumbled to 191/7, losing 5 wickets for just 23 runs. Shardul Thakur and Avesh Khan played key roles in that phase, while Digvesh Rathi’s tight 18th over left KKR with too much to do at the end.
Rinku Singh almost pulled off a miracle with a blistering 38* off 15, needing 24 in the final over. He struck a few lusty blows but couldn’t get KKR over the line.
With this result, LSG register their third win of the season, riding on the impact of Pooran and Marsh Power. KKR, meanwhile, will look to bounce back when they face Chennai Super Kings on April 11.
