Relations between India and Pakistan have become more tense after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
The entire country of India is angry after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Relations between India and Pakistan have become more tense. Meanwhile, speculations have started to grow that India and Pakistan will no longer be placed in the same group in ICC and Asian tournaments. Some reports claimed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has written a letter to the ICC, requesting that India and Pakistan should not be placed in the same group in future tournaments (such as World Cup and Champions Trophy).
However, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla has made it clear that the board will obey the government’s orders and at present no decision has been taken on keeping India and Pakistan in the same group in ICC and ACC events.
Rajiv Shukla said this

Speaking to Sports Tak, Rajeev Shukla said, “We are with the victims and we condemn it. Whatever our government says, we will do it. We do not play bilateral series with Pakistan because of the government’s stance. And we will not play bilateral series with Pakistan in future as well. But when it comes to ICC events, we play because of ICC’s involvement. ICC also knows that whatever is happening, they will deal with it,”
The Women’s World Cup will be played in India in September-October. Pakistan has qualified for it and as per earlier agreements, it will play its matches at neutral venues. Before that, there is the Men’s Asia Cup, which is hosted by India. That tournament will also be held at a neutral venue.
For the past decade, India and Pakistan have played each other only in ICC tournaments. The last time the two teams played a bilateral series was in 2012-13. India vs Pakistan cricket matches always draw huge crowds in any part of the world. Almost always, both teams are put together in the same group to attract maximum attention.
