Taskin Ahmed was unable to play the Zimbabwe series at home due to an ankle injury. He then sought medical attention in England to treat the injury. Taskin saw three sports physicians in total. The Tiger pacer was also absent from the series against Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.

Although he cannot return to the national team with the red ball, Taskin can be seen in the white ball series. Currently, his leg has improved a lot. BCB chief doctor Debashish Chowdhury gave the latest news about Taskin to Dhaka Post.
Debashish was saying, ‘I can say that Taskin has improved by 70% (I found out a couple of days ago). He is bowling at 70%. He is not in the red ball team, he may be in the white ball team, there is a possibility. However, it is not possible to say for sure until a few days have passed. I will understand on the 9th. He may practice till the 6th-7th, then I will understand.’
Bangladesh will play a total of 6 matches with the white ball during the Sri Lanka tour. Initially, a 3-match ODI series will be played from July 2 to 8. After that, there will be 3 T20Is from July 10 to 16.
