Shaun Tait has been appointed as the new pace bowling coach of the Bangladesh team. He has joined the team for the first time since being appointed. The Bangladesh team held a team practice in Lahore on Monday. Tait was with the team there.
Spin bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed has also joined the team. Mushtaq has joined the Bangladesh team since it is touring Pakistan. Since he is Pakistani, his experience in this series will be an added advantage for the team.
Meanwhile, Mike Hesson is taking over as the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team from today. The former Kiwi coach is starting his work before the start of the Bangladesh series. Hesson, who has extensive experience in international and franchise cricket, will lead the Pakistan team for the next few days.
However, the question was who would be Hesson’s deputy in Pakistan cricket. Everyone was looking forward to whether someone old would stay or who would be new. Hanif Malik is Pakistan’s batting coach in the Bangladesh series. Ashley Noff will serve as the bowling coach and Mohammad Masroor will serve as the fielding coach. Hanif Malik is considered a well-respected coach in Pakistan’s domestic cricket, and former Australian cricketer Ashley Noff is the second international face in the coaching panel.
Among the support staff, Imran Ullah will serve as strength and conditioning coach and Talha Ijaz as performance analyst. The long-experienced Naveed Akram Cheema is back as team manager.
With this three-match series, both Pakistan and Bangladesh will start their preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The initial proposal was to organize a five-match series. However, it was finally reduced to three matches. Two matches were reduced due to the impact of military tensions between India and Pakistan.
The series will begin on May 28. The remaining two matches will be played on May 30 and 1. All the matches of the series will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
