SRH Humiliated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) produced a dominant display at Eden Gardens on April 3, thrashing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 80 runs. Ajinkya Rahane’s team outperformed the 2024 IPL finalists in every department, bouncing back in style from their previous defeat.

SRH had a nightmare outing, struggling in both bowling and batting. In a match where SRH Humiliated KKR was expected, the opposite happened their bowlers failed to contain KKR, allowing them to post an imposing 200/6. In response, SRH’s batting crumbled under pressure, getting dismissed for just 120 in 16.4 overs.
SRH Humiliated KKR The chase was a disaster from the start as Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan were dismissed within the first three overs, leaving SRH at a dreadful 9/3. KKR’s bowlers took full control, with Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora dismantling the top order. Spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine then ensured SRH had no way back.
KKR’s fielding was sharp, with only a minor lapse from Andre Russell, who quickly made up for his mistake with a crucial dismissal.
KKR’s batting unit executed their plans perfectly. Despite an early setback, Ajinkya Rahane and young Angkrish Raghuvanshi formed a vital 81-run partnership in just 51 balls. Rahane scored 38 off 27, while Angkrish registered his maiden IPL fifty. Later, Venkatesh Iyer (60 off 29) and Rinku Singh (32* off 17) provided the finishing touches.
SRH’s poor fielding and questionable decisions, including Captain Pat Cummins’ reluctance to give Kamindu Mendis another over, only worsened their struggles.
SRH Humiliated KKR with this thumping victory, as KKR bounced back strongly from their loss to Mumbai Indians, while SRH suffered their biggest IPL defeat by runs. KKR now prepares for their next match against Lucknow Super Giants on April 8.
