The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has conducted fitness tests for cricketers ahead of the Asia Cup. Following the board’s instructions, several cricketers including Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah went to the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for fitness tests. Even though he is not in the game, the BCCI also asked Rohit Sharma to undergo a fitness test. He also went to Bengaluru. The results of everyone’s fitness tests are out.

Indian news agency PTI reported that Shubman, Bumrah, Jitesh Sharma, Mohammad Siraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur have passed the fitness test. It is mandatory to pass the fitness test before going to play in any major tournament. If a cricketer is in the game, then he does not have to sit for this test.

Fitness Tests

Due to this, all the Indian cricketers playing in the Duleep Trophy did not have to take the fitness test separately. But Shubman withdrew his name from Duleep due to fever. He was resting at home for a few days. So he had to take the test.

Now in India, fitness is tested through the Yo-Yo test. That has been done. Along with this, a type of test has been done to measure the bone density of the cricketers. Shubman, Jitesh and Bumrah will go to play in the Asia Cup. Yashasvi and Washington are on standby. Shardul, however, will play in Duleep.

Fitness Tests

The Indian board sent Rohit, and everyone was looking at him. It is learnt that Rohit has also passed the fitness test. Although there is no game for now, India will go to Australia in November to play an ODI series. Rohit is scheduled to play there. Before that, he can also play three ODIs for India ‘A’ against Australia ‘A’ in September.

Even though Rohit took the fitness test, Virat Kohli was not seen. It is not known whether the board has given him any instructions. Kohli is currently in London. He has started preparing for the Australia series there. The cricketer may go to the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru before the series in November. But it is all speculation. Nothing is clear about this yet.
