With this, both Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders have got 1-1 points. Batting first in this match, Punjab Kings scored 201 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Opener Prabhsimran Singh played an explosive innings of 83 runs for the team. The opener hit 6 fours and six sixes during his innings. Not only this, young player Priyansh Arya also batted strongly and played a stormy innings of 69 runs with the help of 8 fours and four sixes in 35 balls.
Both these players shared a 120-run partnership for the first wicket. Captain Shreyas Iyer contributed 25* runs. Glenn Maxwell, who is struggling with poor form, could not score big against Kolkata Knight Riders as well and returned to the pavilion after scoring seven runs. Marco Jansen was also able to score only 3 runs. For Kolkata Knight Riders, Vaibhav Arora took two wickets for 34 runs in four overs while Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell took one wicket each.
