Hasan Ali returned to the Pakistan national team squad with yesterday’s match after a long battle with injury. He has made a memorable comeback. The Pakistani pacer took 5 wickets in the first match of the series against Bangladesh on Wednesday. Which ensured his team’s impressive 37-run victory.
However, after this victory, Hasan had to digest the bad news from his family. The mother of the Pakistan national team pacer was robbed on the street. Two miscreants on a motorcycle snatched Rs 2.30 lakh from her in cash and fled.
Hasan Ali’s brother Khurram confirmed the incident to the media. He said that two motorcycle-riding assailants snatched her purse while their mother was on her way to the market. It is learnt that the purse contained some important items including cash. Gujranwala police reached the spot immediately after the robbery and started investigation. Police said that an operation has already been launched to nab the accused and they are expected to be arrested soon.
Earlier this month, Gujranwala police said that the crime rate in the city has significantly decreased due to a strict crackdown on organized crime gangs.
According to data from the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, shoplifting incidents have decreased by 47 percent from January to April 2025. Crimes such as armed robbery at shops, house burglaries, shoplifting and car theft have also decreased significantly. But Pakistan needs to step up its crackdown on such crimes, as evidenced by the case of Hasan Ali’s mother.
Meanwhile, Hasan was Pakistan’s trump card in his comeback match. Along with the two openers, he took the important wickets of Zaker Ali and Shariful Islam and Tanjim Shakib towards the end.
