The committees of 29 federations have already been reconstituted for the purpose of sports field renovation. Today, the National Sports Council has published the list of ad hoc committees of 19 more federations. Gymnastics is the top sports organization among the federations-associations announced today.
There has been no change in the post of General Secretary in the Gymnastics Federation. Habibur Rahman Jamil has been made the General Secretary. Except for football and cricket, all the federations in the country are basically dependent on the General Secretary. Among the top federations in the federation, after the reshuffle of squash, only Habibur Rahman of gymnastics remained in his post.
Apart from gymnastics, the other federations-associations published today are carrom, Deaf Sports Federation, kickboxing, martial arts, country games, yoga, roller skating, throwball, bashaup, chuckball, golf, surfing, Bhutan, Sepak Takraw, mountaineering, Para Olympics.
The number of federations and associations affiliated to the National Sports Council is 55. The Football Federation held a full-fledged election in October last year. In cricket, there was a change in the president of the board and two directors were included in the board of directors and some were dropped. Out of the remaining 53 federations, 29 were given ad hoc committees in the last few months in several stages by the National Sports Council. Today, 19 federations were announced in one go. Now five federations are left.
One of the most successful sports in the country is shooting. The search committee gave the proposal of the shooting federation a few months ago. There is a slight delay as the Ministry of Sports is scrutinizing the issue of shooting very seriously. Along with shooting, there is a lot of curiosity in the sports community about who is coming to the ad hoc committee of the women’s sports organization.
