Mustafizur Rahman was ruled out of the T20I series against Pakistan last month after suffering a finger injury while playing against Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Pakistan pacer missed the series due to the injury.
Then he returned to Bangladesh from India. Later, the Tiger pacer is walking on the advice of a doctor. Today, Saturday, the holy Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated across the country. And Mustafiz went to his hometown Satkhira to celebrate Eid with his family.
From there, he shared a picture with his wife on social media and wished her Eid Mubarak. However, in the picture, something like a bandage was seen on Mustafiz’s left finger. Later, when BCB doctor Debashish Chowdhury was contacted, he said that a splint had been given to the hand. Which works to reduce pain or keep the finger straight.
Debashish told Dhaka Post, “Mustafiz is on a 3-week rest. That’s why he has a splint on his finger.” Later, when asked about his chances of playing in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka, he replied, “It’s good that we have the Sri Lanka series ahead, there shouldn’t be any difficulty in playing.”
Earlier, national team physio Delwar Hossain said about Mustafizur’s injury, “Mustafizur suffered a clip fracture in his left thumb while playing his last match in the Indian Premier League. He needs rest and rehabilitation to recover from this injury. According to our current assessment, he will be out of the field for the next two to three weeks. After two weeks, we will review the progress of his recovery and take the next decision.”
