India’s speedster Mayank Yadav’s 156.7 kmph, known for his remarkable pace, is finally set to return to action for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025. After missing the first half of the tournament due to injury, the young fast bowler has reportedly recovered and is expected to join the LSG camp this Tuesday, as per India Today. However, while he has been declared fit by the BCCI’s medical team, the final decision on his return will depend on the LSG management and coaching staff, who will monitor him closely before drafting him into the playing XI.

Mayank Yadav’s 156.7 Could Supercharge LSG’s Campaign

Lucknow Super Giants had a shaky start to the season, missing four key pacers at the beginning. But with Akashdeep and Avesh Khan making comebacks, and Shardul Thakur shining in place of the injured Mohsin Khan, the squad has found new rhythm. Thakur in particular has been a standout performer, picking up 11 wickets so far and sitting second in the Purple Cap standings—just one behind CSK’s Noor Ahmad. Meanwhile, Mayank Yadav’s 156.7 has also been a key highlight in the team’s overall performance.

Mayank Yadav’s 156.7 return now could provide an extra gear to LSG’s bowling unit. Retained for ₹11 crore, the franchise has invested heavily in the young pacer, and his raw pace could be a real weapon in the later stages of the tournament.

Meanwhile, LSG are gaining momentum after an impressive six-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans. The side chased down a competitive total with ease, thanks to half-centuries from Nicholas Pooran (61 off 34) and Aiden Markram. Pooran’s form has been sensational, as he currently leads the Orange Cap standings with 349 runs.

Mitchell Marsh, despite missing the GT match due to a personal reason, is third in the Orange Cap race with 265 runs. The depth in the LSG batting lineup is proving vital as the team climbs the points table.

With four wins in six games, LSG now sit third in the standings, trailing only Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In contrast, Chennai Super Kings find themselves at the bottom with just one win in six games.

Historically, LSG has had the upper hand against CSK in the IPL. Out of the five encounters between the two, LSG have won three, with one game ending in no result. As the two teams prepare to clash again, LSG will be hoping to continue their dominance—this time possibly with Mayank Yadav’s 156.7 firing thunderbolts at full pace.
