Aminul Islam Bulbul took over as the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) about three months ago. He had said that he did not plan to stay on the board for a long time. However, Bulbul has changed his mind. He has announced that he will contest for the post of director in the upcoming BCB elections.
Yesterday, during his visit to the Sylhet District Stadium, Bulbul inquired about the infrastructure and facilities there. While talking to reporters at that time, he announced his election to the BCB. Bulbul said, ‘I want to work more in the cricket arena for the needs of the country.’
Later in the afternoon, Bulbul said in front of the media again about the election, ‘I have seen some successes with the objective I came with. I feel that the programs that are going on through this triple century of mine cannot be left half-done. I will try and appeal to everyone so that we can make these works successful. I want to continue with that goal.’

The BCB president said that he changed his plan out of fear that if he leaves his duties midway, he will fail. “The number one reason is the love of Bangladesh cricket that I am receiving. The number two reason is that it is important to continue at this moment. Otherwise, there is a possibility that all these works will fail.”
In the meantime, there is talk that the fight in the next BCB election will be between Tamim Iqbal and Bulbul. He said about this, “I don’t consider it a competition. It depends on those who will be elected. But it is right, those who are coming up for the election, like I am hearing the name of Farooq Bhai, I am hearing the name of Tamim. There will be not only respect for them, but also love and cooperation.”
