Bangladesh has taken to the field today with a new-look XI led by new T20 captain Liton Das. The team management has placed its trust in Parvez Emon in the opening position, keeping experienced players like Soumya Sarkar and Nazmul Hossain Shanto on the bench. He has repaid that trust. He scored a century off 53 balls. Which is the fastest for Bangladesh. In this, Bangladesh has accumulated the highest number of runs against the United Arab Emirates.

Bangladesh, having lost the toss and elected to bat first in Sharjah, scored 191 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. This is Bangladesh’s highest total in T20Is against the United Arab Emirates, where Parvez Emon scored 100 runs.

Two young openers Tanjid Hasan Tamim and Parvez Hossain Emon opened the innings for Bangladesh today. Tamim gave a good start by hitting four and sixes in the first over. However, he returned to the dressing room before settling down on the wicket.

The fourth ball of the second over was bowled by Matiullah Khan far outside the off-stump. Tamim was caught by the wicketkeeper’s gloves while driving there. Before returning to the dressing room, this opener scored 10 runs in 9 balls.

Liton could not take advantage of the three. The Bangladesh captain fell into the trap of leg before four with a great yorker from Mohammad Jawadullah on the first ball of the sixth over. He scored 11 runs in 8 balls. Bangladesh made 55 runs for two wickets in the power play.

Then, Tawhid Hridoy-Zaker Ali got a start but could not settle down on the wicket. Apart from this, Sheikh Mehedi-Shamim Patwari failed in the lower middle order. While the batters were coming and going at one end, Parvez Emon created a storm at the other end. In the end, his innings stopped at 100 runs off 54 balls.

Emon became the second Bangladeshi batsman after Tamim Iqbal to score a century in international T20Is. He reached his personal fifty in just 28 balls in a stormy batting. He scored his next fifty in 25 balls. In total, this opener reached three figures in 53 balls. Which is the record for the fastest century for Bangladesh.
