Nurul Hasan Sohan has been performing regularly in the country’s domestic cricket for the past year. After the BPL, he maintained that trend in the DPL as well. Most recently, Sohan has proven himself for the Bangladesh ‘A’ team. He has also served as the team’s captain.
Bangladesh ‘A’ team recently played three one-day matches and two four-day matches against New Zealand ‘A’ team. Where Tiger, the wicketkeeper-batsman, showed proof of his recovery with the bat. Along with his century in white-ball cricket, he also scored a century in red-ball cricket. Sohan scored 144 runs in 3 innings in ODIs against the Kiwis. He also scored 182 runs in 3 innings in two four-day matches.
It was expected that Sohan would be in the upcoming red-ball series against Sri Lanka. However, the wicketkeeper batsman was not called up for the red-ball series announced yesterday. Now the question arises, will he be seen in the white-ball series against Sri Lanka?
It has been learned that Sohan is ahead in the white-ball series even though he is not in the red-ball series.
A BCB official told Dhaka Post that Sohan is not playing with the red ball, but he is ahead with the white ball. The BCB will announce the team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka during the Test series.
The first Test will start in Galle on June 17, followed by the second and final Test in Colombo on June 25. The three-match ODI series will start on July 2, with the second match on July 5. Both matches will be in Colombo. Then the two teams will go to Pallekele, where the third and final ODI will be played on July 8. Each match of the ODI series will be a day-night match. Then the T20 series will start in Pallekele.
