The Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) works with all the cricketers in the country. The current cricketers are going through a new busy time with this organization, which has never been seen before. The CWAB elections are next month. That is why the cricketers are busy with their last moments among themselves.

The members of the COAB held a meeting in Mirpur on Monday. Later, facing the media, cricketer Mohammad Mithun said, “Previously, no current player was associated with the COAB. Those who had served before, we thought they would work for us. We spent the past time hoping that they would. We suffered for a long time depending on them. Now cricketers from every department have come, wanting to work from the front. If cricket does not move forward from the front, it is our responsibility.”

“We talked about what the current players want and need from that place, and there was a good discussion. We want to take the decision ourselves about who will lead us or who will work for us. That is why we, the current players, have joined.”

Mithun further said, “Those who will come under the leadership of QAWB will be given a guideline so that our players get what they deserve. We cannot name any specific names. Because discussions are still going on among us, it could be anyone. Many are individual-centric, many work with everyone. The leader should be someone who thinks about everyone. We are looking for or discussing such a person. Someone who will not only work on the Premier League, National League or First Class, but also on the District League, which is not happening.”

“The game is closed in every district, and the QAWB also has a responsibility here. If there were strong QAWB units in the districts, they could have talked to the district officials about the game of cricket,” added Mithun.
