Delhi faced defeat by 59 runs in the match against Mumbai Indians.
After a great start in IPL 2025, it seemed that Delhi Capitals would easily reach the playoffs. But later his team went off the winning track and his dream of reaching the playoffs was shattered. The team was knocked out of the playoffs with a 59-run defeat against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede on Wednesday.
The grief of this defeat had not even subsided when the team got another shock. A key bowler of Delhi has been fined 10 percent of the match fee and punished with one demerit point for violating the code of conduct. Mukesh Kumar has been found guilty of a level 1 offense under Article 2.2 of the Code of Conduct. Due to this, this action has been taken against him.
Statement issued by IPL regarding Mukesh Kumar

A statement issued by the IPL said, ‘Mukesh Kumar has accepted the Level 1 offence (misuse of cricket equipment, clothing, ground equipment or fittings during the match) under Article 2.2. He has accepted the punishment of the match referee.’ In case of Level 1 violation of the Code of Conduct, the decision of the match referee is final and binding.
Mukesh Kumar took two wickets in the match against Mumbai Indians and registered figures of 2/48, but his final over proved to be expensive. Naman Dheer hit two fours and two sixes against him in that over. Mumbai posted a total of 180/5 and DC completely crumbled on the difficult Wankhede surface and the match slipped out of their hands.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians batted first at the Wankhede ground on Wednesday and scored 180 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Delhi Capitals were all out for 121 runs. Thus, Mumbai Indians won the match by 59 runs and confirmed their only remaining place in the playoffs. Suryakumar Yadav was named Player of the Match.
