The next election of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is scheduled to be held in the first week of October. However, a few days ago, there were rumors that instead of the election, an ad hoc committee could be formed to keep Aminul Islam Bulbul as the president. In such a situation, the BCB has called a board meeting in Sylhet today, Monday. The next meeting of the BCB board of directors will be held at a five-star hotel in Sylhet at 2 pm. A director of the BCB board of directors told Dhaka Post that there is a possibility of forming an election commission for the upcoming elections in the meeting. According to that clause, the current committee will have to organize new elections by October 7, 2025.
According to the constitution, at least 30 days before the election, the Chief Executive Officer, under the direction of the BCB President, will send a notice to the concerned parties regarding the nomination of councilors for the next general meeting. This process will be as per Articles 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3 of the constitution.

According to the BCB constitution, 12 directors are elected from Dhaka-based clubs (Category-1) through 76 club councilors. From Category-2, where there are representatives of regional and district cricket associations, 10 positions are filled by the votes of councilors from eight divisions and 64 districts. In Category-3, one director is elected under the ‘other representatives’ quota. In addition, two directors are nominated from the National Sports Council (NSC).
