The Bangladesh U-19 team is playing really well in Sri Lanka. They are leading the series 2-1 and set a record total in the fourth ODI. Thanks to Jawad Abrar’s century and Rizan Hasan’s 82 runs, Bangladesh scored 336 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. This is the highest total by an U-19 team in an ODI outside their own country.
Before today, the highest score by Bangladesh’s youth team in ODIs was 340 runs, made in 2019 against Sri Lanka, with Towhid Hridoy scoring a brilliant 123. The next highest was 316 runs against New Zealand that same year. Today, Jawad and Rizan broke that record. It was also the first time in the current series that Bangladesh crossed 300 runs in an innings.

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first at Colombo Cricket Ground, starting aggressively. The opening stand ended at 49 runs when Kalam Siddiqui (19) got out. Soon after, captain Azizul Hakim Tamim (23) was unfortunately run out. But Jawad and Rizan built a strong partnership for the third wicket, adding 135 runs and setting up a big total for Bangladesh.
Jawad made 113 runs from 115 balls, hitting 14 fours and 3 sixes. Rizan scored 82 runs from 77 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. After that, there were no big partnerships, but some quick contributions helped the young Tigers finish strong. Abdullah added 32 runs from 27 balls, Debashish Deba made 19 from 11 balls, and Al Fahad smashed 19 runs from just 5 balls.
Rasith Nimsara took the most wickets for Sri Lanka, getting 3. Tharusa Navadya took 2 wickets, and Sanuja Ninduwara took 1.
