Aminul Islam Bulbul has been busy with various cricket developments since taking charge of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The former captain of the national team has worked for the ICC for a long time. Because of this, Bulbul has experience of working closely with many countries. This time, he talked about the formation, criteria and structure of the national team squad.

Speaking to the media yesterday (July 26), BCB President Bulbul cited the example of Afghanistan, saying, “Afghanistan used to scrutinize very strictly how emerging and hyperperformance teams would be formed and on what basis players from hyperperformance would go to the national team.” Bulbul believes that there should be a transparent and strict system in player selection, “There should be a system in team selection. Players can be given opportunities to play according to that. (To get into the team) they have to perform within that system and framework. Without that, we will lose our goal.”

The BCB chief said that if the domestic tournament format matches the international schedule, the preparation will be implemented properly. “The framework of domestic cricket has to be fixed in line with the national team’s game. For example, if our team goes to play the Asia Cup in the T20 format, then domestic cricket must be in the T20 format before the Asia Cup. Everything has to be analyzed in this way. We will implement everything gradually.”
