Before the Asia Cup starting on 9th September, a big news has come out from Pakistan. Let us tell you that recently the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced to host a tri-series for the first time in the country. This tri-series will be played between host Pakistan as well as Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
The tri-series will be played in Pakistan before the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which can also be called a mini Asia Cup. Let us tell you that for the first time in this series, the Afghanistan cricket team will be seen playing its first T20 International match in Pakistan. Earlier, the Afghan team has played only five ODIs in Pakistan, but the team has not yet played any T20 International match on Pakistani soil.
Well, this tri-series will start on November 17, while the final match of the series will be played on November 29. All three teams will be seen testing their preparations in this series before the ICC T20 World Cup.
First match in Rawalpindi
Let us tell you that the first match of this tri-series will be played on November 17 between host Pakistan and power house Afghanistan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. After this, the second match will be played on November 19 between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan on the same ground. After this, all the matches of the triangular series will be played in Lahore, including the final match on November 29.
