Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das was eagerly anticipating his debut in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). As a result, he skipped the upcoming Test series against Zimbabwe. However, his PSL campaign ended before it began. Liton sustained a finger injury during practice, and scans later confirmed a hairline fracture. He is now returning home without playing a single match.

BCB’s Chief Physician, Dr. Debashish Chowdhury, confirmed the news to Dhaka Post, saying, “Liton has injured his thumb and is returning home. More details will follow.”

Liton also shared an update on his verified Facebook page:
“I hope everyone is doing well. I was truly excited to represent Karachi Kings in the PSL, but God had other plans. During practice, I injured my finger. A scan revealed a hairline fracture, and I’ve been advised at least two weeks of rest.”

Bangladeshi star cricketer Liton Das has announced his return home after sustaining an injury, asking for everyone’s prayers and support for a quick recovery. He shared, “Unfortunately, my PSL journey has ended before it even began. I’m heading back home and request your prayers for a fast recovery. Wishing the very best to Karachi Kings.”

The 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) kicked off on April 11 with Lahore Qalandars taking on Islamabad United in the opening match. Lahore suffered a heavy defeat, playing without Rishad Hossain. Liton’s team, Karachi Kings, are set to face Multan Sultans today (Saturday) at 9 PM in the second game.

This season, three Bangladeshi players were selected by different PSL franchises: Peshawar Zalmi picked pacer Nahid Rana from the ‘Golden’ category, Karachi Kings selected Liton Das from the ‘Silver’ category, and Lahore Qalandars chose Rishad Hossain. While Liton and Rishad received full tournament NOCs from the BCB, Nahid Rana will join the league after Bangladesh’s first Test against Zimbabwe, starting April 20.
